Ketchum is looking to add an Assistant Account Executive to our growing Health portfolio. This is a tremendous opportunity to work on high profile accounts, sharpen your strategic thinking and employ your creativity. Our ideal candidate is someone who knows PR, and is in the know/or interested in Healthcare.  

About the Job

  • Maintain regular contact with clients and media; proactively offer and successfully implement new ideas and solutions to meet client needs
  • Research and write press releases, briefing documents, key messages, Q&As, fact sheets, pitches and other materials
  • Execute strategic communications plans that ladder up to clients’ business objectives
  • Drive successful media relations efforts on behalf of clients through pitching compelling stories, implementing media events and building strong relationships with industry and national business media and influencers
  • Monitor, analyze and report on client/industry related news, including real-time monitoring of quarterly earnings and other major financial announcements
  • Proofread and edit documents; consolidate team edits; maintain records of supporting reference materials.
  • Respond to requests for information from clients, team members and other agency employees with accuracy and in a professional and timely manner.
  • Coordinate team and/or client meetings, including scheduling, meeting room set-up, catering and travel, as appropriate.
  • Act as liaison between account team and internal/external vendors and services, such as copy center, design, video production and promotions.
  • Maintain ownership of billing procedures within the team (according to client) by maintaining billing, invoices and job numbers.

Qualifications

Any combination of education and experience providing the required skills and knowledge for successful performance would qualify. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, Marketing or a related field preferred
  • 1+ year of post-undergraduate experience in a public relations agency or a similar position
  • Ability to work in multi-faceted, fast-paced environment
