Ketchum is looking for a Managing Account Supervisor to join it’s Travel, Hospitality & Leisure (TH&L) sector and growing roster of domestic and international destinations, airlines, attractions, recreational activities, restaurants and entertainment clients. About the Job

  • Perform a wide range of duties including development of client programs, strategic planning, staff development and financial management.
  • Act as key day-to-day contact to clients, continually fostering client-agency relationship to build trust and become a valuable resource to clients.
  • Provide strategic guidance to clients on an ongoing basis; anticipate and address clients’ needs.
  • Troubleshoot clients problems as they arise; seek senior management input whenever appropriate.
  • Motivate team members by promptly reviewing work and providing constructive feedback; encourage team to take advantage of training and development opportunities.
  • Assist account team(s) in working effectively and in the best interest of client(s).
  • Ensure quality control on all external deliverables; attention to detail is a must.
  • Strive to develop the best communication and presentation skills possible to effectively articulate ideas to clients, colleagues and others.
  • Manage account financials including budget allocation and control, time sheets, client billing, supplier invoicing and purchase orders.
  • Access agency’s network of resources to deliver greatest value to clients.
  • Demonstrate and develop presentation, negotiation and problem-solving skills; demonstrate ability to effectively develop full range of materials, including media materials, byline articles, speeches, client correspondences and reports.
  • Stay on top of trends in the industry; bring them to the attention of clients and associates, as appropriate.
  • Work with account team(s) to build incremental business.
  • Participate in new business programming and presentations.


Any combination of education and experience providing the required skills and knowledge for successful performance would qualify. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Business, or a related field. Master’s degree, a plus
  • 7 plus years of agency and/or in house public relations experience with specific focus on travel and tourism
  • Broad-based exposure to all skill areas, including proposal planning, writing and presentations, media relations, and consultative selling
  • Ability to work at a fast-paced agency and juggle multiple projects at once
  • Willingness to travel and staff evening and weekend events from time-to-time (and when the time is right)
  • Team player; organized, can prioritize, and manage junior team members
  • Self-starter and decisive yet knows when to approach senior staff when needed
  • Always thinking about the bigger picture, what more can Ketchum offer
  • Experience counseling senior level clients
  • Experience working in interagency teams with multiple marketing partners
  • Demonstrated track record in building client relationships and delivering programs that exceeded anticipated results
  • Ability to spot relevant trends and insights and share with teams in order to mobilize, develop, and motivate
  • Fluency in Spanish (written and verbal) is required
