Account Supervisor, Retail

Ketchum’s Retail group is looking to add an Account Supervisor to work on one of the most exciting, award-winning and largest accounts at the agency. In this role, you’ll be a day-to-day contact helping to spearhead new, high-profile initiatives for the client. As such, you’ll be at the multi-agency table with top industry partners where you’ll be expected to hold your own. In this role you will be responsible for bringing big strategic ideas and partnerships and thinking through the details like timelines, staffing and media strategy. About the Job

  • Wide range of duties including development of client programs, strategic planning, staff development and financial management
  • Serve as key liaison among client, account team and agency management
  • Seamlessly manage the financials and complex staffing for large book of business (budget allocation and control, time sheets, client billing, supplier invoicing and purchase orders; ensure team billability and account profitability)
  • Act as client contact, continually fostering client-agency relationship to build trust and become a valuable resource to clients
  • Work across agency specialists to lead and provide counsel on a range of initiatives, including: influencer relations, earned media relations, paid media counsel, social media, analytics and media tracking
  • Bring the creative heat with out-of-the box marketing approaches
  • Deliver strong writing in brand voice for plans/programs, client press releases, byline articles, correspondence and reports
  • Serve as editor on team assignments to help effectively and succinctly communicate ideas
  • Troubleshoot client’s problems as they arise; seek senior management input whenever appropriate
  • Assist account team(s) in working effectively and in the best interest of client(s)
  • Nail communication and presentation skills to effectively articulate ideas to clients, colleagues and others
  • Work with account team(s) to build incremental business
  • Demonstrate and develop presentation, negotiation and problem-solving skills; demonstrate ability to effectively develop full range of materials, including media materials, byline articles, speeches, client correspondences and reports
  • Stay on top of trends in the industry; bring them to the attention of clients and associates, as appropriate


Any combination of education and experience providing the required skills and knowledge for successful performance would qualify. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:

  • Five + years of agency and/or in-house public relations experience
  • Demonstrated track record in building client relationships and delivering programs on time, on budget and beyond anticipated results
  • Broad-based exposure to all skill areas, including proposal planning, writing and presentations, media relations, and consultative selling
