If yes, Ketchum’s New York office is looking to add a Senior Account Executive with strong media chops to our dynamic team – the same team that recently launched a Supercomputer into space.


The ideal candidate will have experience driving and executing strategic media programs, achieving and maintaining primary interface with client contacts and translating complex concepts for a broader audience. S/He will know (or have the capacity to get to know) the media and influencer landscape covering trends like artificial intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT). S/He will have the opportunity to challenge the status quo while being at the forefront in communicating some of today’s biggest technology trends and innovations for the future.


This is a tremendous opportunity to work on a roster high-profile technology brands in a dynamic, award-winning and highly collaborative team environment. It doesn’t hurt to like to geek out on occasion, but it is not a requirement. A love of learning is a huge plus, however.

About the Job

  • Act as primary client contact; continually foster client-agency relationship to build trust and become a valuable resource to client
  • Plan and run creative media relations programs; identify media contacts, build relationships and secure coverage
  • Build creative, integrated storytelling programs and campaigns dsigned to engage a wide variety of audiences and stakeholders 
  • Play key role in account activities including special events, media relations, program implementation, etc.
  • Demonstrate ability to effectively develop full range of written materials including press releases, byline articles, blogs, speeches, client correspondence and reports
  • Continually build understanding and knowledge of clients’ business and competitive environments; apply this information in preparing and presenting strategically focused programs and recommendations
  • Be flexible and facilitate teamwork within account team; coordinate team resources and create opportunities for junior staff to take on more responsibility; fully utilize agency resources to create the "best teams" for your clients
  • Develop an understanding of various research methods; coordinate internal and external resources in implementing research projects
  • Participate in the research, writing, and presentation of new business proposals
  • Take advantage of internal and external networking opportunities to enhance professional development and agency/office visibility
  • Seek counsel from financial manager to understand the client/agency financial policies and procedures as they relate to client plans/budgets


  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, Marketing, or a related field. Master’s degree in communications (or another related field) desirable
  • Four+ years of public relations experience
  • Interest and/or experience in identifying and building strong editorial contacts
  • Interest and/or experience identifying and working with technology influencers
  • Ability to translate trends and technologies into conversational English
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experienced client counselor, relationship manager and account manager
  • Successful track record of helping to build and/or present concepts/programs for clients and of effectively executing programs
  • Hands-on team player adding value, sharing creative ideas, and executing successful communications programs
