Qualified candidates possess one year of previous work and/or multiple internships with direct public relations experience and demonstrate polished communication (writing and verbal) skills a must.  Successful candidates also demonstrate social media know-how and a developed sense of the news media landscape. Strong candidates are fearless about media pitching, and boast a strong interest in the PR industry.

About the Job

The Account Coordinator is an organizational guru who acts as the day-to-day point person for multiple client project accounts. The role requires a strong degree of multitasking, a sharp focus for details, and an ability to find the humor in developing status reports, combing through the monthly financials/invoicing, and promptly responding to client/team/media requests. Account Coordinators must have a passion for our industry and mastering the basics of PR and a “can-do” attitude: media pitching; social media; research; event coordination; program development; writing; client presentations; and assisting in new business development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, English or a related field preferred.
  • Exceptional writing skills.
  • Exhibit strong organizational, presentation and interpersonal skills including the ability to juggle multiple assignments / clients and cope with stressful situations; prioritize and handle high-volume detail work.
  • Be enthusiastic, flexible and willing to go beyond assigned duties.
  • Be a strong team player and have the ability to work autonomously.
  • Familiarity with social media and online communities in relation to broader media mix.
  • Creative thinker with a passion for pop culture.
