We’re looking for a Digital Strategist to join our ranks, an individual deeply ingrained in internet culture, integrated marketing communications and the dynamics of on- and off-line community-building. This individual will play a critical role on Ketchum’s Digital team.  Ideal candidates will have experience with content creation and copywriting, community management, account and/or project management and overall digital engagement strategy. In other words, the ideal candidate is someone who thrives on working in a highly visible, brain-bending, massively multitasking capacity at the cutting edge of where communications and technology converge.

About the Job

Community Management

  •  Leverage personal and professional experience across social media platforms to listen and monitor for macro-trends and micro-moments and demonstrate an understanding of how to engage with audiences and influence conversations
  • Develop and implement strategies and tactical programs to influence audiences across the blogosphere and various social media platforms
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of integrated marketing and traditional public relations, and the role social and digital media play in integrated marketing
  • Monitor, analyze and report on all community engagement initiatives and corresponding conversations within influential social and online destinations
  • Develop/manage influencer relations programs and successfully implement related activities
  • Provide ongoing live updates and reporting of events via video, image capture and other creative means to drive visibility and engagement
  • Build strategic and compelling conversation and content across a variety of social and digital platforms

Content Creation

  • Lead creation of social media post copy, digital assets (infographics, videos, gifs, blog posts, etc.) and produce client-ready concept and strategy decks
  • Proactively identify and develop sound Point of View for client and account team use with regard to the latest trends and technology shaping the future of the internet
  • Develop strategic recommendations and program tactics for clients; regularly identify and present new ideas, concepts and programs for clients and new business opportunities
  • Translate trends, technologies and metrics into understandable and easily digestable  new business presentations

Relationship Building, Account Management and Client Consultation

  • Act as primary client contact; continually foster client-agency relationship and consistently add value to achieve success and build ongoing trust with clients
  • Advise on the development and implementation of emerging media and community engagement initiatives
  • Understand business objectives and how to work with clients to develop clear business cases around opportunities for engagement in social and digital media
  • Play a key role in account management activities including special events, program implementation, etc.
  • Develop and monitor program plans and budgets for profitability; report status to client and agency management on a regular basis
  • Be flexible and facilitate teamwork within client account team; coordinate team resources and create opportunities; fully utilize agency resources for your clients
  • Understand and implement client/agency financial policies and procedures as they relate to client plans and budgets

Business Development

  • Continually strive to grow your understanding and knowledge of clients’ business and competitive environment(s); apply this information in preparing and presenting strategically focused programs and recommendations
  • Explore and create opportunities for incremental business growth within your clients’ organization(s)
  • Participate in the research, writing, and presentation of new business proposals
  • Take advantage of internal and external networking opportunities to enhance professional development and agency/office visibility

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years experience; agency experience preferred; digital/social experience preferred; in-house and traditional PR candidates considered with strong demonstrated personal or professional experience in content creation and account management
  • Exceptionally detail-oriented and highly organized with the ability to manage multiple project deadlines efficiently
  • Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in journalism/business/marketing preferred
  • Critical thinker with proven expertise in developing creative, intelligence-driven solutions for industry leading clients and organizations
  • Successful track record of helping to build and present strategic digital concepts/programs, recommendations and tactics for clients and effectively executing programs
  • Demonstrated experience in creating original content professionally which may include social media post copy, social media graphic content, videos, blog posts, web content or other professional reports such as social listening summaries or strategy presentations
  • Advanced knowledge  of using social media to drive brand awareness, engagement and traffic to a website/social media pages in relation to broader media mix
  • Ability to monitor brand/client awareness and impact through social media and online communities
  • Experience working cross-departmentally to provide clear creative conceptual direction and to motivate and inspire client, account, and design teams
  • Digital trendspotter who is always in-tune with the latest and greatest platform updates, emerging trends and technologies 
  • Strong comprehension of social media metrics, with ability to identify client KPIs, strategically analyze and translate social and digital insights, into succinct, compelling, conversational language for a variety of audiences 
  • An individual who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, working effectively with colleagues and clients across organizations and geographies
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, across a range of formats and platforms
  • Self-starter with strong appetite for learning; highly motivated and driven to succeed
  • Big-picture thinker with a positive, “yes and” attitude; willingness to work with and mentor junior staff
  • Strong attention to detail – from proofreading to copyediting, you should be able to produce client facing documents with minimal oversight 
  • Ability to project manage – including developing timelines and helping oversee projects from inception to execution 
  • Basic understanding of paid amplification as it relates to social media IND13
