We are looking for a superstar business development coordinator to join our business development team in New York City. This role requires a candidate who is very detail orientated and who enjoys working in a high pace and dynamic environment. The candidate for this role must be a forward thinker who anticipates needs and potential problems. This candidate must be smart, a good communicator, have a passion for excellence in whatever task they are administering and be flexible to a range of expectations and needs in any given day.


The coordinator will have the opportunity to touch all facets of the new business process, from marketing and outreach to rehearsals/pitches and follow-up.  The business development coordinator will work closely with the business development senior manager to attain hands-on experience in Ketchum’s business development process. 

About the Job

  • New Business Strategy/Process
    • Observe and become familiar with Ketchum processes, specialties and product offerings in order to suggest and find initial answers for RFIs
    • Become familiar with the new business process in order to help manage teams during the process; eventually working with all stakeholders to coordinate and traffic content creation for pitches, RFIs and RFPs
    • Participate in new business brainstorms and strategy sessions
    • Maintain new business pipeline report
  • Logistics
    • Manage schedules for team meetings, rehearsals and pitches
    • Arrange catering as needed
    • General admin support and project coordinator for overall team and for new business pitches (e.g. Coordinate IT/AV, travel/accommodations for pitch teams, security clearance/welcome board for guests)
  • Design
    • Ability to design and format new business presentations
    • Trafficking projects with graphics on new business opportunities, working with the team on scheduling and pitch needs
    • Coordinate production of materials
  • Proactive Outreach
    • Manage prospect database, maintain data integrity and mailing lists
    • Manage all new business direct mailings and email blasts
    • Research potentials companies and contacts
  • Research
    • Research for new business pitches and client presentations
  • Develop Organizational Nomenclature
    • New Business folders of Teams and Common Drives
    • Hard copy records
  • Marketing Events
    • Project manager for event coordination/logistics


Any combination of education and experience providing the required skills and knowledge for successful performance would qualify. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:

  • Ability to proactively manage multiple projects
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Team player with a positive, “can-do” attitude
  • Have drive, passion, and natural curiosity for new business development process
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced and high-pressured environment
  • Strong ability to collaborate and coordinate across projects and functions, as necessary
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, Marketing or a related field
  • Previous internship experience in public relations or a similar position in an agency setting
