Our San Francisco office is seeking a Managing Account Supervisor or Account Supervisor to join our Reputation Practice, with a focus on issues and crisis communications management. This position is part of a growing practice on the West Coast, working on high-profile client challenges.

About the Job

  • A passion for jumping head first into high-profile challenges that threaten clients’ reputations and clients’ ability to conduct their day-to-day business
  • Possess strong writing skills and the ability to examine issues from a critical mindset
  • Excel under quick turnaround deadlines and high media profile/digital trending situations
  • Provide counsel and rapid response communications support to day-to-day clients and the agency’s other clients that may need ad hoc support when they experience reputation challenges
  • Play a key role in the development of issues & crisis planning protocols, materials and client trainings
  • Identify growth areas within agency’s existing clients, across Reputation/Corporate, Food, Brand, Tech and other practices for response preparedness opportunities
  • Work seamlessly internally, across Ketchum offices and groups (i.e. Ketchum Digital, etc.) to bring best solutions to client challenges
  • Participate in new business opportunities/presentations and client presentations
  • Provide appropriate instruction to junior staff on projects and facilitate teamwork
  • Cultivate and monitor program plans and budgets for profitability; report status to client and agency management on a regular basis IND13  #LI-ML1


  • 7+ years of experience handling reputation/issues/crisis communications management for diverse industries and organizations
  • Expertise in digital and social media, with ability to utilize those mediums to support a client’s reputation
  • Strong knowledge of the media landscape and experience in working closely with the media
  • High level of comfort and confidence providing strategic counsel to senior clients/corporate client executives
  • Excellent writing skills for application in stakeholder communications, talking points, etc.
  • In house communications, PR agency, or comparable work experience
