The growing Sports group seeks an Account Executive to join the team in our NYC office!

The Account Executive will play a significant day-to-day role on high profile KSE clients.  A demonstrated passion for media relations, knowledge of social media, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced environment are a must. This position requires strong written and verbal communication skills and a passionate interest in sports PR, communications, events and the sports industry overall. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain regular contact with clients; proactively offer and implement new ways to meet client needs.
  • Monitor media for all relevant sports and sports business trends; report to team with insights relevant to clients.
  • Ability to learn, understand and adapt information for working with different sports leagues -- from NASCAR to Olympics -- and apply that knowledge across various client business including brand PR, corporate sponsorship, etc.
  • Conduct media outreach on behalf of clients in relation to events and spokespeople.
  • Work with other Ketchum account teams remotely across the country to provide sports-specific counsel.
  • Establish understanding and knowledge of the clients’ business and their competitive environments.
  • Participate in program presentations to clients or new business prospects.
  • Initiate implementation and logistical management of media events, press conferences/briefings, media tours, etc.
  • Under the strategic direction of senior management, act as the primary implementer of account plans.
  • Seek counsel from financial manager to be able to review financial reports, project budgets, and related financial materials. 

Qualifications

Any combination of education and experience providing the required skills and knowledge for successful performance would qualify.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, English, Marketing or a related field
  • Two or more years of experience in public relations or similar position in a non-agency setting
  • Sports marketing experience required
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills
  • A strong work ethic IND13
