Ketchum’s New York office is looking for an Account Executive to join our growing Brand practice. Are you interested in working on a fast-paced account that impacts your everyday life?  

 

About the Job

  • Support a top global client of Ketchum’s that spans across paid, earned, shared and owned
  • Act as a strong resource for the team and continually foster the client-agency relationship to build trust and become a valuable resource to clients
  • Continually build understanding and knowledge of the clients' business and industry; apply this knowledge in preparing and presenting strategic programs and recommendations
  • Support the client and internal teams on consumer activations, corporate and executive visibility work, thought leadership, media relations and narrative development  
  • Conduct media outreach and build and foster relationships with key media
  • Manage media events, execute programs, and manage vendor relationships on behalf of the team
  • Be flexible and facilitate collaboration within the account team; coordinate team resources and create opportunities for junior staff to take on more responsibility; fully utilize agency resources including liaising with digital, influencer, video, research, creative and entertainment teams within Ketchum
  • Demonstrate ability to effectively develop full range of written materials including pitches, press releases, byline articles, speeches, briefing sheets, client correspondence and reports
  • Verify information to ensure accuracy of media materials and contacts; maintain and create media lists
  • Prioritize assignments and meet deadlines, actively communicate progress and deliverables
  • Proactively offer creative and interesting ideas for the client and implement new ways to meet client needs
  • Actively contribute to the development of PR plans
  • Execute and implement plans
  • Support billing and administration including creating vendor purchase orders, drafting SOWs, drafting program budgets, etc.; liaise with internal finance teammates
  • Take advantage of internal and external networking opportunities to enhance professional development and agency/office visibility

Qualifications

Any combination of education and experience providing the required skills and knowledge for successful performance would qualify. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, English, Marketing or a related field
  • Two to three years of experience in a public relations agency setting plus PROVEN SKILLS in media pitching
  • Strong relationships with reporters across several verticals including, but not limited to, those covering finance, technology, payments, and retail
