    Ketchum is looking for a New Business Rockstar to join the Growth team. This person will be responsible for day-to-day support of business development initiatives including pitch management, proposal/presentation development, marketing, and prospecting.  This person will also help achieve corporate, office or regional business development goals.  Our ideal candidate is highly proactive and motivated with a can-do attitude.

    About the Job


    • Assist in driving an appropriate business development process for each new business opportunity
    • Support a culture of growth within the agency across their three assigned sectors
    • Collaborate and support the SVP, Director of Business Development on strategy to improve win rate, ROI and other sector andmarket-specific goals
    • Ensure maximization of Ketchum’s network of resources
    • Exhibit strong communications skills to effectively articulate ideas to colleagues, prospects and others
    • Exhibit strong project management skills and assertiveness
    • Strong persuasive writer and researcher

     Outreach and Marketing

    • Assists with identifying target organizations and key prospects and ensure a consistent, organized approach to prospect outreach
    • Help ensure that the sectors maintain a consistent pipeline of qualified prospects
    • Execute local marketing events highlighting agency resources and innovation
    • Execute sector-related outreach initiatives to encourage employees to participate in prospecting and Ketchum’s culture of growth initiative
    • Active participation in DAS/Omnicom networking groups, including planning and hosting Ketchum-sponsored events to achieve holding company visibility and grow the number of leads for the office/region


    • Coordinate the “Vetting” of leads as they come to the region for Ketchum appropriateness and conflict
    • Assist in the successful transition of leads to appropriate practice leaders
    • Maintain data integrity of current pipeline opportunities and participate in weekly pipeline update phone calls with other new business network colleagues
    • Facilitate appropriate resources (research, creative, etc.) for all prospects and pitch opportunities
    • Engage in brainstorms in support of programming as appropriate
    • Organize responses and pitches, drafting new content as needed
    • Direct the project management process of pitches
    • Liaise with finance and the new account team once the business has been won to ensure rapid activation


    • Participate in the agency’s new business network, sharing best practices and successes with group
    • Actively share knowledge, resources, previous pitch experience, case studies, etc. with the agency’s corporate communications team and new business colleagues
    • Work with the team, SVP, Business Development and sector leaders on annual new business strategy and plan
    • Participate in recruitment of junior level team members


    • BS/BA degree in marketing, communications, business or related field and a minimum of two to five years of combined public relations, marketing communications or professional services business development experience
    • Knowledge of the marketing and sales process, and developing professional relationships with prospects
    • Ability to quickly become knowledgeable of Ketchum’s proprietary tools and develop clear understanding how to apply tools and technology to client work
    • Stay current with new developments in online industry from the POV of technological advancement and innovative executions relevant to client’s business, and to develop agency POVs that inspire actionable strategies
    • Proven ability to make a professional and positive impression with senior management within potential client organizations and Ketchum internally
    • Excellent verbal, written, project management and presentation skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects and pitches at once
    • Knowledge of design and web development a plus
