  • Overview

    Ketchum is looking for a Production Manager that has experience in production of: print media advertising, print collateral, digital advertising & ad trafficking’ art buying (photography and artwork); project management from concept to final production. Our ideal candidate would be very knowledgeable in printing, prepress technologies (digital and litho), creative a diplomatic problem-solver and team leader. 

     

    This role would oversee and manage print media advertising, including collaborating with the media buyer, running media tracking meetings with the media buyer and account team, working with print publication contacts to confirm specs and deadlines/extensions, as well as resolve production issues that arise.

    About the Job

    • Work with outside vendors to estimate and place print prepress, including confirming & deciphering publication specs and sizes, directing color correction and retouching (in collaboration with creative and account teams), working with publications in the event of technical problems, handling client estimates and billing through vendor payments with Ketchum A/P.
    • Responsible for print buying and working with printers (and other vendors) to develop, estimate and produce print collateral projects, including brochures, out-of-home postings, signage, trade show materials and any other custom materials our creatives and account managers recommend. Research new technologies and vendors when the need arises to produce something new; or to find the appropriate resource.
    • Manage relationships & projects with photographers and artists (and their reps), including scheduling shoots, participating in creative conversations and pre-pro calls, estimating, discussing usage (and maintaining client usage documents (e.g. Getty stock images), preparing photographer contracts (including processing advance and final payments in accordance with the contract) and managing the details of a photoshoot. Also includes stock photography research, purchase/download and distribution of the high res photography files.
    • Prepare production estimates and schedules, then work with the various teams (inside and out of Ketchum) to conform to those estimates and deadlines.
    • Able to (train) and explain production issues to account teams and clients, in easily understandable layman’s terms.
    • Work with online publications and websites to determine specs for digital advertising; and articulate to the creative & account teams. Responsible for creating digital spec sheets and trafficking ad placements and other digital materials to the appropriate portal or contact per the approved media plans.
    • Partner with art directors (internal and freelancers) during creative development, discuss creative solutions and limitations due to production technologies, budget, client direction or timeline; meet with staff art directors to oversee creative workload and status of all creative jobs.
    • Orchestrate weekly production meetings by client team; serve as a constant resource for production planning, i.e. develop timelines and managing workflow through the creative department.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of 5 years project management experience.
    • Knowledge of Creative Suite preferred, for asset management.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Advertising or a related field.
    • Experience with both online/web and print. Experience using a project management tool, is a plus.
    • Must be able to manage many competing projects at once and handle high pressure situations
