    Ketchum is looking for a Project Manager, Digital Research & Analytics to work out of our NY office!

    About the Job

    This position will provide the opportunity to manage all aspects of digital and social research projects and programs. The position reports to the Digital Research & Analytics Director in managing projects from inception to presentation of results. The position partners closely with account teams and clients to provide strategic guidance in the creation of data-driven strategies and tactics.  In addition, this position is a critical specialist role, advising team members on social media measurement methodologies, tools, trends and best practices. Ideal candidates will successfully collaborate with team members but also be able to work well with limited direction, exercising excellent discretionary judgment and initiative.   

    • Analyzing social and digital channels and consumer conversations to inform strategy and evaluate marketing and communication programs.
    • Managing all phases of social/digital research projects by performing and coordinating the activities required for successful projects including:
      • Development of research and measurement proposals
      • Development of quantitative and qualitative research instruments
      • Budget and vendor management
      • Analysis and reporting of research findings
      • Presentation of results
    • Supplying consumer and business insights – not “data dumps” – to account teams and new business teams, to include:
      • Analyzing and interpreting primary, secondary and social/digital data
      • Understanding client objectives to distill findings that are insightful and actionable
      • Developing relationships with client and account teams. This includes regular and proactive one-on-one interaction with local account teams, and direct correspondence with account teams and clients
      • Understanding client objectives and ensuring deliverables meet those needs
    • Participating in the development of new and incremental business, including:
      • Relationship building with clients and account teams, lead development
      • Managing social/digital research needs during the development of new business presentations
      • Maintaining a strong level of expertise in Ketchum’s PR measurement and analytic approaches
    • Serving as a specialist and advisor in the area of digital and social research, to include:
      • Staying up to date with trends and techniques for social media measurement and advising clients, account teams and other research team members on methodologies, tools and best practices
      • Contributing to thought leadership activities focused on social media measurement
      • Participating in or driving social media measurement projects and initiatives
      • Developing new methodologies, reports or product offerings to meet existing client needs and to drive new business

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in related field; Master’s degree helpful
    • Minimum of 4-6 years of related research experience; media measurement experience helpful
    • Strong experience in social listening and interest in exploring new trends and techniques for social media measurement
    • Broad knowledge and understanding of social and digital channels; PESO model and ability to measure results within each space
    • Excellent client management skills with the ability to communicate professionally and proactively
    • A team mentality and desire to collaborate with co-workers across multiple geographies
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision and guidance, with ability to multi-task, prioritize, meet deadlines and keep manager updated to progress
    • Excellent project management skills
    • Outstanding analytical, writing and problem-solving skills
    • Varied experience designing and conducting primary and secondary research projects and interest in learning new research tools and methods

    Expertise in any or all of the following:

    • Web analytics tools such as Google Analytics and Adobe Omniture
    • SPSS or similar statistical package capabilities
    • Social media monitoring & measurement tools, such as Brandwatch, Talkwalker, Sprinklr or Sysomos
    • Social channel analytics tools such as Facebook/Instagram/YouTube/Twitter Insights
    • Influencer identification and management tools such as Traackr, Tagger or Tap Influence
    • Working knowledge of Search Engine Optimization tactics IND13
