The Manager, Corporate Communications, at Ketchum will focus on media relations, yet also spend time spreading content via other channels such as online content creation, including copywriting and internal broadcasts. A passion for communications is needed, as is an interest in partnering with various internal stakeholders to ensure the firm is well-positioned with its various audiences including clients, media, employees, prospects and industry influencers.

    About the Job

    Key Media Responsibilities:

    • Establish and build relationships with media
    • Identify and support opportunities to increase visibility of Ketchum and its work
    • Partner with internal client teams to maximize visibility for Ketchum thought leadership, products and offerings externally
    • Assist with annual presentations to trade media
    • Support media strategy for all announcements, including key new hires and product/service launches. 
    • Draft and edit press releases, fact sheets and pitches, and work to secure media coverage on behalf of the firm
    • Ensure accuracy of media monitoring and tracking, and work with team to keep key executives informed of Ketchum coverage, breaking news and relevant industry trends
    • Use data to help adjust media strategy to maintain Ketchum’s top position

    Additional Responsibilities

    • Help maintain and update the company website and blog, proficiency in WordPress and Photoshop a plus
    • Help with content strategies and implementation, including drafting and designing digital media content
    • Amplify Ketchum activities by developing content for external digital platforms
    • Seize opportunities to photograph onsite activities for internal/external channels
    • Play a supporting role in execution for large-scale internal communications projects, including all-colleague broadcasts and cross-agency meetings
    • Serve as onsite Facebook & Workplace Live expert for events as needed


    • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) ideally in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, Marketing, or a related field
    • Profiency in Photoshop a big plus
    • Experience of marketing and communications; ideally within an agency would be preferred
    • 5+ years of experience
    • Excellent trade media relations skills and media savvy
    • Experience launching targeted paid social ads and with analytics reporting software a plus.
    • Strong communications skills, both written and verbal; strong presentation skills – must have proven ability of creating stories, angles and unique positioning
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Ability to handle high-level confidential matters with discretion and professionalism
    • Sensitive to global cultural differences
    • Willingness to work closely, on small, tight-knit global team
