    Ketchum is looking for a VP/SVP of Strategic & Creative Planning, this individual will work with Ketchum’s Technology sector and across North America, to transform and catalyze creative concept development from insights to idea to program sell-in.  Immediate focus will be with Ketchum’s clients in the B2B Tech and Consumer Tech industries.  

     

    This role requires the ability to inspire with creative confidence and collaborate with teams with in our Technology sector around the network.  In addition, this position will contribute to the Global Creativity Community and share best practices, contribute thought leadership, evolve strategic and creative processes and tools, and create visibility and awareness for Ketchum’s reputation for strategic creativity with current and prospective clients.

    About the Job

    Strategic Planning & Creative Development

    • Partner with account leads to develop programs that enhance / expand work with current clients and win new clients applying RISC: Research definition & assessment, insight identification, strategy planning and creative concept development
      • Brainstorm planning, preparation and facilitation
      • Concept development and preparation (drafting programs and visuals)
      • Work collaboratively with the insights and research team to identify and agree key insights to help drive creative programming and ensure all concepts are on brief and on insight
    • Serve as one of Ketchum’s internal contacts for RISC, the agency’s strategic planning process to educate, inspire and embed RISC, resulting in industry awards that recognize insight-inspired strategies and break-through creativity
    • Responsible for proactively driving and owning the process to generate and sell-in creative, actionable and unique programs rooted in clear communication of ideas and insights, demonstrating in-depth knowledge of client’s business and its consumer/end user
    • Develop creative briefs for ideation sessions; lead creative ideation and brainstorm sessions for client opportunities; develop/vet ideas generated in brainstorm sessions

    Senior Strategy and Creativity Counsel: Technology

    • Assist client directors on key accounts / clients and new business pitches with
      • RISC assessment
      • Positioning and message development
      • Interim client director work, as necessary
      • Temporary responsibilities helping with KWest Brand Group management
    • Present and sell ideas/plans to agency partners and clients and be adept at negotiating to successfully sell through creative concepts
    • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with multiple clients, agency partners and internal stakeholders
    • Act as a catalyst to generate and embrace diversity of ideas and thinking across the team/client network
    • Work with account team to identify growth opportunities with client

    • Agency resource and industry / subject matter expert for the technology industry
    • Ability to lead and drive to the best client solutions through ambiguity and adaptable to changing priorities

    Qualifications

    Any combination of education and experience providing the required skills and knowledge for successful performance would qualify. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, Marketing or a related field preferred. Master’s degree in a communications field desirable.
    • At least 10+ years of experience of agency and/or corporate public relations experience.
    • Proven track record in growing business through insights and creative ideation.
    • Ability to solve complex brand/client challenges; strong balance of traditional, innovative, experimental, shopper and digital/social experience; proven ability to creatively problem solve.
    • Excellent facilitation and negotiation skills required to lead a room of people and align around a clear and singular point of view.
    • Desirable insights and strategic planning development and oversight.
    • Agency experience required (Advertising, PR, Marketing Communications) or comparable in-house experience working with Communications clients.
    • Proven experience in working with clients at the CMO and other C-Suite levels.\
    • Ability to lead and drive to the best client solutions through ambiguity and adaptable to changing priorities
    • Experience in analyzing and making use of research
    • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit with vision and leadership to enact change
    • Proven ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships clients, colleagues and vendors
    • Exceptional oral and written communications skills; captivating presenter, storyteller and great listener; strong negotiating, persuasion and diplomacy skills IND13  #LI-ML1
