    About the Job

    Our group is growing faster than ever, and embracing new horizons. Improving operational effectiveness is integral in our quest to boldly innovate. As a result, this role will support our growth and innovation aspirations, and has a hybrid model - split among Operations and Analytics. A hybrid approach is crucial to understanding – and enhancing - the Ketchum Analytics DNA (e.g. how we work, where we are headed). Working closely with research specialists based around the globe, and senior operations managers/executives, the Senior Research Associate, Operations will be responsible for:

     

    Operations: Resource management. Vendor and tools/database management. Process/training development. Project management support on large-scale projects for the Ketchum Analytics group

    Analytics: Quantitative and qualitative research analysis/measurement. Social media and digital analytics. Providing consumer/business insights to account and new business teams

     

    Operations

    • Resource management across geographies
      • Track staff availability, and provide timely and accurate updates
      • Continuously update staff skillsets documentation, identifying gaps and opportunity areas
      • Leverage project management spreadsheets and platforms/tools to assist in effectively matching scopes and resources/talent; maximizing efficiency
    • Ensure that tools/databases are being effectively leveraged across the organization; manage vendor logistics
      • Create materials and approaches to increase engagement with the Ketchum Analytics library of tools/databases among employees
      • Develop step-by-step trainings and how-to documents as needed, covering tools/databases
      • Work with financial, procurement and legal teams as needed to manage contract logistics, create POs and ensure timely payment of vendors
      • Review research tools landscape regularly, to support tool procurement recommendations
    • Process/training documentation and development for Ketchum Analytics employees
      • Develop guides and documentation to track operational processes, and train new hires on these processes
      • Connect with existing team members to ensure compliance with existing processes (e.g. related to project staffing requests and availability reporting)
      • Work with Learning & Development team members to ensure alignment and innovation in training processes
    • Support dedicated project management needs
      • For certain larger-scale projects, serve as a project management specialist to ensure smooth running of projects (e.g. tracking budgets, timelines, communications/updates) 

    Analytics

    • Assisting team members with consumer and business insights – not “data dumps” – to account teams and new business teams, to include:
      • Understanding client objectives to distill findings that are insightful and actionable
      • Interpretation of YouGov, Canvas8, comScore, Quid and/or other types of secondary data
      • Development of target audience profiles, secondary research summaries, and trends reports
    • Conduct Social Media Research and Analysis:
      • Learn the newest social data tools (e.g. Radian 6, Sysomos, Brandwatch, Sprinklr, Talkwalker) to understand what consumers are saying about our clients’ business
      • Analyzing and interpreting social/digital data

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree preferred; relevant courses or field of study preferably in Marketing, Business, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Engineering or related field
    • 1-2 years research experience preferable, in a quantitative or qualitative field
    • 1-2 years project/vendor management experience preferable; PMP certification valued but not required. Experience as a product manager may be an asset (e.g. cloud-based productivity tools/platforms)
    • Interest in project management platforms (e.g. Screendragon experience in particular is valued), and developing new processes to improve collaboration
    • Proven ability to manage complex project details, timelines, budgets and communication, while ensuring compliance among team members
    • Aptitude to translate trends, technologies and metrics into conversational English
    • Strong writing skills
    • Entrepreneurial spirit and ability to create partnerships and build connections that will drive business
    • Interest in social media platforms and how companies are using the tools to drive brand awareness, engagement, and traffic to a website/social media pages
    • Outstanding time management skills and ability to work independently
    • Knowledge of/Expertise or desire to learn any or all of the following:
      • Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Project, Visio)
      • Project management tools/databases (e.g. Mindjet, Wrike, Clarizen, Screendragon, Asana)
      • Secondary/syndicated databases (e.g. YouGov Profiles, Canvas8, comScore, Quid, Mintel)
      • Social media measurement and social media monitoring tools (e.g. Brandwatch, Sprinklr, Radian6, Sysomos, Talkwalker, etc.)
      • Coding languages (e.g. HTML, Java, R, Python, SQL or similar language coding)
      • Statistical packages (e.g. SPSS, Q, Stata, SAS, R)  IND13
