    About the Job

    • Help to transform the reporting function from a support service to a critical driver of performance and decision making.  Help to create a culture of performance management by providing critical and actionable data to leadership
    • Develop and distribute dashboards and key business metrics to relevant business partners including non-financial metrics.  Develop models for client, employee, and service type profitability
    • Prepare annual financial plans including capacity, income and expense, capital budget and supporting schedules. Update monthly forecasts and provide detailed variance analysis for submission to local and corporate office. Monitor actual versus projected spending on client and agency budgets, recommend course corrections as appropriate
    • Enhance and optimize the financial reporting and planning processes to provide more insightful analysis and make process more efficient.  Partner and liaise with shared service accounting group and act as advocate for reporting needs and requirements  
    • Partner with legal department to address financial elements of vendor contracts. Work with account teams to negotiate agreement
    • Actively manage and drive improvement in agency’s working capital including billings, accounts receivable and accounts payable in partnership with Client Finance 
    • Perform ad hoc and scheduled reporting and analysis
    • Serve as a trusted advisor and partner to account teams and business leadership.  Contribute to and facilitate trainings for the agency to improve financial acumen
    • Work closely with and provide guidance to the Financial Analyst and Financial Coordinator and other finance staff as necessary.  Work to promote best practices within the team
    • Represent Ketchum in a professional manner and build strong relationships with business teams, adding value and providing strategic counsel
    • Be flexible, creative and service-oriented when working with individuals at all levels of the agency
    • Work closely with two VP, Finance Directors to drive financial strategy for assigned business units
    • Develop knowledge of current industry and business trends and understanding of financial implications


    Any combination of education and experience providing the required skills and knowledge for successful performance would qualify. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or Business Administration with concentration in Accounting
    • 6-10 years of progressively responsible experience in finance/accounting in the public relations or a related industry, with at least one year in a supervisory capacity
    • Demonstrated excellent communication and relationship-building skills, commitment to client service
    • Outstanding financial acumen and expertise in using financial systems and Excel for financial modeling and data manipulation.  Experience with PowerPivots a plus
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Proven ability to be flexible, creative and service-oriented when dealing with individuals throughout the organization
    • Experience with PeopleSoft application preferred as well as knowledge of Cognos and/or Prophix
    • Excellent time management, prioritization and organizational skills are critical.
    • Systems specification and implementation experience
